This sculpture represents a Nile Crocodile, which in ancient symbolism, despite the fear it aroused, the beast still lived in the beneficial waters of the Nile, and therefore also became a symbol of the fertility and generosity of the river's flood. The crocodile's body is painted in various shades of green, while the back has a particular diamond decoration with gold details. Each piece is the result of an artisanal process of the highest technical and artistic quality, sculpted and painted by hand. De Rosa Rinconada creations are made of very fine Uruguayan ceramic decorated with brightly colored enamels and 18 kt gold and platinum. Made in Montevideo, Uruguay.
